Today, Kaci met with insurance adjusters and investigators to walk through the space. Preliminary findings indicate that the fire started in Room 2 and was related to an electrical/mechanical issue with the HVAC unit. At this stage, the specific nature of the cause is still being determined. Room 2 remains off-limits while the investigation continues and we don’t have an ETA on when we’ll get access to room 2.
In the meantime, we’ll begin cleaning up room 1, the entry, and the passthrough space.
We’re working with a company to conduct an inventory of the entire studio (minus room 2 for now) to identify and restore everything that can be professionally cleaned and salvaged. They will also provide an itemized list of everything that needs to be replaced so we can officially identify everything we’ll need to rebuild.
We don’t have a confirmed timeline for when these phases will be complete, but we anticipate the inventory to go very quickly.
In other news, Jeff is visiting another potential space for our temporary home this afternoon and we have another one scheduled for tomorrow morning.
