Functional Fitness is a high intensity, skilled based learning group fitness class. We focus on complex movement patterns that frequently involve weights.
In every Functional Fitness class, your coach will personally help you with the movements in the workout.
This class is based on a methodology of “constantly varied functional movement done at high intensity”. We vary the intensity by increasing or decreasing the loads (the weights), the time (how long you are doing something for), and the distance (how far you are traveling or moving a load).
These movements are considered functional because they apply directly to life and self defense: picking up groceries or a person, running with your kids or running from a threat, having the endurance to go for a hike or to fight for your life.
In our KM Bag classes, you’ll have the opportunity to work on strikes and combinations (punches, kicks, knees, and elbows) on our Wavemaster punching bags to improve your striking and overall fitness.
No partner is necessary. These classes are open to all levels of experience.
We recommend hand wraps and/or boxing gloves for this class, but they’re not required.
Rise & Grind
Rise & Grind is our energizing 9am workout on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It’s low impact and self-paced with a preference for bodyweight movements.
- 10 minute warm up
- 10-15 minute workout
- 20-25 minute guided foam rolling and mobility
Our goal is to get you moving, get your heart rate up a little, work on mobility, and have you walking out the door more energized and awake than when you walked in.
Mitt Work is a 45-minute striking class. It’s like KM Bag but with partner work and pad holding.
We recommend hand wraps and/or 16oz boxing gloves for this class, but they’re not required.
