June 3, 2023 | 12:30-2:30pm

From wildfires and tornadoes to historic floods, ice storms and more, emergencies and disasters are in the spotlight. And seeing β€” and experiencing β€” those events can cause anxiety and fear.

The antidote? Action.

In this seminar, participants will:

  • Learn context and considerations for emergency preparedness.
  • Receive practical, effective and actionable suggestions, resources and strategies to help plan and prepare for challenging events.
  • Leave with not only knowledge, but the motivation to take action β€” before the next event happens.

About Jennie Trower

Jennie Trower

Jennie Trower began training in Krav Maga in 2002, became an instructor 10 years later, then went on to start her own self-defense business and co-found another a few years later.

In recent years Jennie took a step back from teaching self-defense and stepped forward into the world of emergency management, finding many parallels between it and self-defense.

Today, she serves as both a disaster action team and government operations liaison with the American Red Cross, responding to home fires, exercising and planning for large-scale disasters, and collaborating with local and regional emergency management entities.

Jennie is also the executive director of the Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors (AWMAI), a 30-year-old global professional organization dedicated to training, supporting and promoting instructors and business owners in the fields of martial arts and self-defense.
