We are in a constant balancing act of wanting to train hard, push our limits, and simulate realistic violence and fight scenarios while also keeping ourselves and one another safe.

Everyone in our community has responsibility over each other's safety, but you carry an extra amount of that weight if you have a higher level of knowledge or experience.

When the mats are filled to the brim for stand-up sparring, we should ask ourselves why we then say that grappling rounds are "unrealistic."

One of the biggest mistakes we can make as Kravists is wholly conflating training with simulation.

*Some* training is for simulation. Some training is for repetition. Some training is for fun, for experimentation, for exposure, for resilience.

For example, kickboxing sparring is *not* Krav Maga, but the lessons we learn about range, composure, defense, and offense translate into self defense. Those same lessons can be learned once we hit the ground, if we are open to them.

It took until about 10pm last night and well into the afternoon today to get this day - and there's still work to be done. BUT we're hopeful that Monday's Striking Fundamentals with Mike will get a chance to break in the new space.
