Women’s Self Defense Seminar with Bastrop YMCA
What will I learn?
In this seminar, you’ll learn how to fight back—using your voice, strikes (punches, kicks, knees, elbows), and defenses against real world attacks. You’ll come away with skills to get home safe as well as develop and build the fighter mentality and spirit.
What to expect?
This is a hands-on seminar. Expect a good workout with scenario and stress-based drills, all done in a safe and welcoming environment for any level of fitness and martial arts experience.
- Dress in workout clothes that you feel comfortable moving and sweating in
- Tennis or running shoes
- Bottle of water
- A towel (optional)
- Warm up
- Combatives (punches, kicks, knees, elbows)
- Hands on defenses against chokes
- Final drill
What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is an Israeli self-defense system based on fast, easy-to-learn responses to common, real-world attacks. It draws on techniques from other martial arts and combat sports such as Muay Thai kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Wrestling, and Boxing and combines them with an emphasis on home defense, sexual assault prevention, and surprise attacks.
Not exclusively for athletes and fighters, Krav Maga is meant for everyone of every size, age, and experience level to walk with strength and confidence out in the world.

Cost is $25 for YMCA members and $35 for non-YMCA members.
